ME

My name is Mateusz and i was born in the period of great transformation in Poland, in year 1992. As a child, I still experienced a strange combination of difficulties, poverty and deprivation, mixed with the new begining of my country. Full of changes, opportunities & hope for a better tomorrow. Transformation of a country beaten and enslaved behind the Iron Curtain, which only a few years earlier had regained its freedom. Still with society deeply scarred from horrifying realities of communism.

Everything that I experienced shaped me. Sometimes through the dramatic death of parts of me, and sometimes through a sudden sense of awareness and understanding. I am grateful for what happened to me and I would like to thank my mentors. Those still alive and those who are no longer here

MY ART

My works are inspired mainly by the surrounding world and human existancialism. I really like to look at and paint scenes of weather, landscapes and clouds. Finding a lot of satisfaction in creating impressionistic scenery. Beliving that life is truly wonderful, I would like to show people the magic of everyday sights. Remind you how fantastically complex & bizarre the world we are in is How beauty is found in the simplest forms in nature. The light of the Sun, symbol of conscious creates existance, because it makes things visible – on its journey through the sky, clouds casting delicate shadows on land. Roads, symbols of a journey through life. I am trying to regain the connection of the human being as part of nature, the great cycle, not the executioner and victim of the environment.

Apart from beautiful sunrises and sunsets, I also enjoy the subject of philosophy, existence and religion & myths which permeates my works. Focusing mainly on the subject of human beings. Nature of emotions, morality, symbols of our heroism, tragedy and beauty of life. Symbolism of ancient records, older than the oldest cities. Stripped of all unnecessary, conveying the core of our being as a society, individual, will. The heroism of those who, by going into the darkness, overcome what is unknown – fear to achieve greatness. Messages showing us consciousness, the nature of good and evil, yin and yang.
